ALMOND RC  - About Us

Almond Riding Club of West Lothian is affiliated to the  BHS Riding Clubs  - Area 1  which covers Southern Scotland from East to West coast and Borders. We currently have over 200 members and are one of the few remaining clubs in Area 1 who still cater for Junior members.  Based in West Lothian the club holds regular competitions and training days at the Scottish National Equestrian Centre (SNEC).

We cater for all levels of ability. Our members range from new, first horse owners looking for friendly social meetings and informal competitions to those also out competing at affiliated level in their chosen disciplines as BD, BE and BSJA members. Members enjoy the chance to meet other horse owners in the area, to make new friends, get encouragement and support to help them fully enjoy their horses. Flatwork sessions start from intro level and jumping from poles on the ground.  There is something for everyone!!

We regularly field  teams and individuals at the Area 1 qualifiers and have had riders and teams qualify for all BRC National Championships most years. 2016 was no exception with riders qualifying for the BRC Summer National Championships at Lincoln, the new  Intermediate Dressage Team Championships at Bury Farm , Buckinghamshire  and then a return to Bury Farm just a few months later for the Dressage to Music Championships when almond had won all music qualifiersat the Area1 summerqualifers - two Novice Finals, Elem and Pairs Finals.

Its not all about teams though - we run social events, fundraising RaceNight with fantastic raffle prizes, the Xmas Party Fancy Dress is always a great finale to the year and finished off 2016 with a grand flourish  with Mounted Games!!!

Almond RC welcomes new members who are keen to be active members of this fantastic club!! Come and join in the fun!!
